About Our Family
Julie and Kurtis are a young couple that own and oversee the operation at Blue Pigeon Resort. They purchased the property in 2014 in the hopes that it will grow and become a family legacy in the future.
What was once known as Sugar Bush Cottages was rebranded as Blue Pigeon Resort with a new vision in mind and a goal of what the future will bring for them and their family. Opening its doors to the public for the first time in 2015; Julie and Kurtis understood the challenges of a new business but have managed to grow the Resort into a place where families and friends come to gather year after year.
Residing in the GTA, Blue Pigeon Resort is their summer “home”; you will often find Julie in the office and Kurtis overseeing the maintenance and operations of the site. Their combine efforts have turned Blue Pigeon Resort into the premier cottage rental in the Trent Lakes region.
They are excited to fulfill the family’s vision and enjoy meeting new friends in the process.

We enjoyed a fantastic vacation while staying at Blue Pigeon Resort for approximately a week last August (Hey, so sorry for the late review).
Kayaks and canoes were free to use, the heated pool was amazing, and each cottage had a BBQ and fire pit. Had a great time. The admins is really accommodating! We will probably return again next year!

The owners and Staff at Blue Pigeon are great to deal with. They are very prompt at answering questions or delivering needed items. The kids spend hours playing in the heated in ground pool or running around the playground. While the lake area is not for swimming it is great for fishing and there is always someone big or small out there with a fishing rod. it’s a well laid out resort so several of us rented cabins there all close together. What I love is all the cabins we have stayed in over the years are renovated and clean. Last summer we rented one with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so that our large family of all ages could stay together in one place. Also, it’s only a short boat ride or drive to town as well so that is amazing. We loved our stay and will stay again.

Staying at the Blue Pigeon Resort truly felt like Home away from Home. My family rented the Brookie Cottage, which comfortably fit 11 of us. It really did feel more like a “house”. It was a very clean and comfortable stay.
The owners are great hosts. They are friendly and accommodating and we instantly felt welcome as soon as we arrived at the cottage.
If you enjoy fishing, you’ll have fun on the dock. There are certain times of the day where it seems liked the fish were just biting everything, so you won’t sit for hours with no action.
We highly recommend staying here and will definitely be back!
